Boston Town return to league action on Tuesday night (25 August) as they make their first ever trip to Carlton Town.
The two clubs have only ever met once before. That was in August 2017, when the Poachers pulled off an upset by beating the Nottinghamshire club 3-2 in the FA Cup.
Will Britton and Fraser Bayliss were on the scoresheet, with Carlton contributing an own goal.
That was part of one of the club’s best ever FA Cup runs, when Gary Frost led them to the 3rd qualifying round and brave defeat to Hyde United.
Chris Funnell’s side are currently 7th in the Pitching In Northern Premier League Midlands Division, with Carlton two places behind but having played a game more.
Carlton are an experienced Step 4 side, having played at this level sicne 2007. Last season they narrowly missed out on promotion to the NPL Premier Division. They finihsed just two points behind champitons Anstey Nomads and then lost to Racing Club Warwick in the play-off semi-finals.
Kick-off on Tuesday will be 7.45pm.
