Harry Limb wasn’t the only one achieving a century at Grantham on Saturday.
It was also Chris Funnell’s 100th game as manager of Boston Town.

He becomes only the eight person to reach that milestone – and he can boast the best win percentage of any previous manager.
Funnell has won 56% of those 100 games – only Bob Don-Duncan (54.29%) and Bill Brindley (51.24%) had win ratios higher than 50%.

Mind you, he has a fair way to go to catch up with Don-Duncan’s phenomenal 1,188 matches in charge over two spells!
Funnell also has the best record of any Poachers manager when it comes to avoiding defeat – 77% of matches when he’s been in charge have ended with his team winning or drawing. The only others who top 70% are Don-Duncan (72.81%), Martyn Bunce (70.54%) and Brindley (70.25%).
The former Lincoln United boss took over the Boston Town hot seat just over two years ago after Bunce retired from management.
His first game ended in a 3-1 home defeat to Atherstone in the FA Vase, but the Poachers were then undefeated in their next six matches. Funnell’s rein has been characterised by long unbeaten runs – most memorably the 13 successive wins from February to August this year which saw his side storm to a historic United Counties League title and then start life at Step 4 with two victories.
